why won’t my cat eat?last week i had to buy kit and kaboodle instead of the 9 lives plus care.now the kit and?
kaboodle is gone.so i went back to the 9 lives plus care,my cat won’t eat it anymore.the vet assured me that the cat is not ill.but she still won’t eat.i can’t get to the store again until monday.any suggestions?

I would have to say that the cat is not adapted to the food yet and if you want it to i would mix the old food with the new food each time fed and add less and less old food as the days go by then your cat will get use to the new food you can try that?

If she is hungry, she should give in and eat it. If she continues not eating, call your vet again. If you have friends, particularly with cats, see if they can offer your kitty some food. Chances are she’s just being testy because of the change in diet. My cat won’t eat the food he used to since we changed his diet either. I wouldn’t worry unless this continues into the next few days.

feed her people food until you can get her the stuff she likes. cats are NOTORIOUS for being finicky eaters, if you switch their diet and they like it better they will refuse to eat the old stuff. I used to feed my cat science diet and one day, i didnt have a lot of money so i bought her purina instead. Since then she won’t eat anything but purina. Just give em what they want. My dog is the same way, will only eat Beneful.

Whenever I change foods for my cat he hates it at first.
I dunno how long it’s been since you changed foods but normally your cat will get accustomed to the taste of the new food and start eating it.
In this case, if it was eating the kit and kaboodle immediately and not eating the 9lives anymore, your cat must’ve liked the k&k better.
You can let him get reaccustomed to 9lives or change to the one he/she prefers.

Neither food has satisfactory nutritional value and maybe the cat knows it. The cat has to eat an incredible amount just to get enough nutrition to thrive. Get a high quality food like Wellness, or Avoderm or Mother Hubbard, or Merric or Ennovo and see if you cat won’t eat a lot better. In the mean time feed the cat chicken and rice and veggies.

well, cats definately have their preferences. my cats always loved kit and kaboodle better than 9 lives, but i switch my cats food often. try iams. it is healthy for your cat but expensive. my cats also love whiska’s hard food, the round kind, or purina and friskies, and this other kind i bought recently my cats devour. For over the weekend, feed your cat some milk just not too much, maybe some unflavored fish like tuna, or some meat.

Get a food that lists a meat as the first ingredient. Not byproducts. If you have to, mix hard and soft food. DO NOT give a cat any food that lists wheat, grain or rice as the first ingredient.
