How to take care of a cat when going to college and living alone?

So im going to be living alone in an apartment and going to college, I want to get a cat because its the only pet they allow me to have in this place and I dont really know how to take care of it if im going leaving for college every morning. I thought of an automatic feeder but Im afraid I wont give the cat the attention needed.
also, in any case I have to travel by airplane, is it a hard procedure to get your cat through the airline policies regarding pets?

Have all home remedies for cat medical care extinct?

I am unable to take my cat to the vet at this point because the president gave my husbands job to foriegners and he had to take a job which pays 1/3 of what he was making and I am unable to aquire employment because all the good jobs are going overseas so it’s helpful to know about home remedies.

IMMEDIATE HELP! How should I care for a one week old stray cat who appears to be orphaned?

Ok, my knowledge about cats is very limited. A seemingly one week old stray cat has entered our house and is reluctant to leave. I have grown a liking for the little devil but I dont know how to care for cats. I gave him some milk half of which he lapped up eagerly. It raises its tail up completely straight and rubs itself on my body. What does this mean. Also it keeps on licking itself. I do not see any wounds or any such thing on his body. Its a female cat and I have decided to name him Vaska.
Thank you very much!!!!!!!!

How to take care of a cat that has just been spayed?

My family didn’t have to worry about fixing my 10 year old cat, seeing as how when we got her 8 years ago, she was already spayed, so we have never dealt with the fixing process. Me and my mother decided to adopt a 3 year old precious feline, who is bigger than the cat I have, who is already big. My mother went to adopt her today, and she says that our baby is now ours, we just can’t get her yet! I guess the shelter had made an appointment with a vet to get her spayed, and we can’t pick her up until Thursday (today being teusday). I haven’t spent much time with this kitty cat, and when we pick her up, she’s probably have just gone through an intense surgery. They said that to begin with, she’d probably hide a little while in our house, and that it would take her a few days to adjust. Now she’s probably going to want to hide more! How will I take care of her? Is there anything I’m going to have to do for her while she recovers, that I don’t regularly do for my 10 year old kitty?
The vet is closed tomorrow because it’s the fourth of July, so we WILL end up getting her the same day of her spay surgery.
